From Pain to Peace to Purpose
Hi friends! I hope this finds you all doing well!
We are settled in Easley, SC having moved here the end of January, 2026 and are busy with work and enjoying being near our youngest daughter, Kristen, and her family, along with Tod’s mom, Kay, who moved here the end of February.
I made a new friend at The Farmacy Neighborhood Grocery, a local place with lots of great options for healthy and yummy eating - featuring local farm meats, veggies, honey, dairy products, eggs, and more. Her name is Melissa Curtin, and through her own pain to purpose story, she has learned much about supporting the body to heal and created a podcast to share stories. Below is the interview we recently recorded, where she graciously allowed me to share my story in hopes that it encourages and helps someone else.
Since moving to Easley, my friend group has also grown with a wonderful faith-based organization called Healing Strong with peer-led local chapters for people seeking healing from cancer and other illnesses using non-conventional means. Their three pillars of healing are 1) rebuilding the body, 2) renewing the soul, and 3) refreshing the spirit through God’s Word. What a good prescription to heal!

March 2026 - We had the whole immediate family together. Grandchild #4 expected in September!

I praise God that this month I received the 7th NEGATIVE Signatera result, that tests for circulating tumor cells that match the DNA of the tumor removed from me. This test, if I were to receive a positive result, gives an 18 month lead time for intervention before a tumor would show up on a scan. I remain NED - No Evidence of Disease - three years and four months after diagnosis. So grateful!
